Pregnancy, birth, + postpartum support

As a doula, I accompany people in labor to support the birth experience. I provide emotional support, physical comfort, and information to help my clients make informed decisions throughout pregnancy and labor. I help clients develop their birth plans, discuss and practice pain management techniques, and offer a wealth of resources for pregnant people looking at all of their options.

A full-spectrum birth doula offers:

  • Prenatal visits focused on education, birth planning, techniques for labor

  • Support for the birth parent and partner to process any concerns, fears, and emotions about birth

  • Physical and emotional support through the birth

  • Support before, during, and after loss or termination

For existing birth clients, I also offer an extended postpartum package.

My services include:

  • consultation/interview

  • 2 prenatal visits (in person or video chat, ~90 minutes)

  • phone, text, and email support

  • on-call from weeks 38-42

  • labor and immediate postpartum support

  • 1 postpartum visit

    $800

What we go over during prenatal visits:

  • birth preferences & birth plan

  • hospital policies and procedures

  • best ways to manage each stage of labor

  • things you can do during pregnancy to encourage a positive birth experience

  • resources, links, and hand-outs to support a healthy labor and birth

  • As early as you like. Most pregnant people start the process of finding a doula at about 20 weeks, but you can hire a doula right up to when you go into labor!

  • I accept a maximum of only one client due date per month, and no due dates within two weeks of one another. This is to ensure the best chances of attending each birth.

  • Most doulas charge between $800 and $2500 for their services, depending on the scope and breadth of service as well as the doula’s experience. I keep my fees at the low end of this range to ensure access for lower-income clients.

If you decide to retain me as your doula, 25% of your total fee will be due before the first prenatal visit. The remainder will be due at your second prenatal visit. I also offer payment plans if the upfront cost doesn’t work for you.

All of my birth packages include 18 hours of hands-on active labor support. If labor exceeds 18 hours, an additional charge of $50 per hour will apply.

If you cannot afford the fees listed here but you need the services of a doula, please reach out so that I can work with you on a sliding-scale basis or, if I am not available for your due date, help you find a doula that fits your budget. You can see my fees listed on this page.

  • I am not a trained photographer (yet), but I will be happy to snap photos during the birth if you would like me to. I do not charge for this because I cannot guarantee the photos, but I do discuss this during consultations.

  • A doula does not:

    • perform clinical tasks, such as taking blood pressure, fetal heart check, or vaginal exams. I am there to provide comfort and support.

    • Make decisions for you.

    • Speak to hospital staff on your behalf. I will discuss concerns with you and suggest options, as well as encourage you to voice your opinions.

    • Deliver the baby. If the baby is born on my watch at home, in the car, etc., I or your partner will immediately call your midwife or an ambulance to further assist you. I will not act as a midwife or doctor, but I can help you stay calm and guide you until they come. I am not a trained medical professional.
