I’m Emilee Shindel.
I’m a PhD student in the History Department at Temple University. I received my MA in History from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2017. I study the urban, environmental, and gender history of the American West.
I have always loved reading and writing, so history is a natural fit for me. It took going to graduate school for me to realize my passion for bringing history to a broader audience, whether that’s in or outside the classroom. I love teaching, and engaging with students brings me a lot of joy.
When I’m not in the classroom, in the archives, or at my desk, I’m usually putzing around my garden with my kids or rewatching a Star Trek episode.
